MY STORY IN CINEMA

From a passion for theatre to film production

Theatre has been my first love since childhood.

I used to stage small performances at home, designing costumes and putting on shows for my family.

This passion gradually evolved, leading me to explore various artistic languages—from dance to film criticism, and eventually production and directing.

I studied film and theatre theory and criticism at La Sapienza University in Rome, and trained in acting and stage movement with Jean-Paul Denizon (from Peter Brook’s school), as well as in dance with Luca Russo, Anton Dino Verga Danza, Monica Camilloni, and Hamdam Malek.
Today I work as an Intimacy Coordinator, and I also have experience as a director and producer, bringing together creativity, strong organizational skills, and a deep commitment to the well-being of everyone on set.
My Professional Path

Film and Audiovisual Production

Since 2012, I have worked in film production, contributing to both national and international films and TV series.

I began with independent productions, focusing on development, fundraising, and festival distribution. I then moved on to larger productions, where I honed my skills in set organization and shoot management.

Cinema and Beyond

In 2018, I received a scholarship for a documentary filmmaking master’s program at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in New York City.

In 2020, I made my directorial debut with the documentary Sisterhood, an exploration of sisterhood within women’s basketball teams in Beirut, Rome, and New York. The documentary was released in cinemas and distributed on platforms including RaiPlay and Netflix.

Since the launch of its first edition in 2012, I have collaborated on the project and award BookCiak, Azione!—a literary-cinematic contest where books by Italian independent publishers are turned into “bookciaks,” experimental short films of up to three minutes. The event takes place during the Venice Film Festival’s Giornate degli Autori section.

From 2005 to 2011, I worked as organizer and curator for Tekfestival (Rome), an international film and social documentary festival.

Intimacy
Coordination

My experience across various areas of the film industry, combined with a deep engagement with gender issues, naturally led me to the profession of Intimacy Coordinator.

I work closely with directors, cast, and crew to balance artistic vision with consent and comfort for everyone involved, while fostering cultural change within the audiovisual industry.
